21-22 Two Sigma Diversity Undergraduate Scholarship (Fall 2021)

Department Deadline: 10/21/2021
External Deadline: 11/5/2021

Two Sigma Diversity Undergraduate Scholarship

At Two Sigma we understand that diversity drives innovation, and we actively seek to promote the visibility and inclusion of women, LGBTQ+ people, and those from ethnic and racial backgrounds that remain under-represented in technology. One way we foster greater inclusivity is through the Two Sigma Diversity Undergraduate Scholarship, which supports undergraduate students in STEM fields such as Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics at accredited universities in the United States. We assess applications based on students’ resumes, degree transcripts and recommendation letters.

      • Scholarship recipients will receive a one-time award of $15,000 USD paid to the Scholarship recipient directly, which, as a condition of the scholarship, may only be used for tuition, fees required to enroll at or attend their university, and books, supplies, equipment and course-related fees for courses at their university.
      • A Two Sigma Research Mentor will be assigned to each Scholarship recipient.
      • Each Scholarship recipient will be guaranteed a first-round interview for a Two Sigma 2022 summer internship.

Eligibility

      • Applicants must be full-time students currently pursuing an undergraduate degree at an accredited university in the United States.

      • Students must be in their 3rd year of a 4 year undergraduate degree program when the scholarship begins (fall semester or quarter 2022).

      • Students should be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in one of the following disciplines listed below:

      • Statistics

      • Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering

      • Physics / Astronomy

      • Applied Mathematics

      • Two Sigma employees, contractors/consultants & relatives are not eligible

The department can nominate up to3 undergraduate students. Their goal is essentially to sponsor outstanding research in STEM fields and therefore establish a long lasting partnership between Faculty, students, and Two Sigma.
