JP Morgan Chase WCS Scholarship (Fall 2019)

JP Morgan Chase, a leading global financial services firm, is generously providing two $2,500 scholarships for fall 2019.

Criteria - Applicants should meet all of the following:

  1. Female Computer Science majors;
  2. WCS members;
  3. Sophomores or juniors in Fall 2019;
  4. 3.0 or higher GPA.



 Submission Details (by 9/22/2019 by 11:59P)

Required Materials:

  1. CV. Your current CV/resume.
  2. Unofficial Transcript. Visit UI Integrate Self-Service and view Academic History.  Save as PDF, HTML, or Word doc.https://apps.uillinois.edu/selfservice/
  3. Essay, 1 to 2 single-spaced pages, responding to a AND one of the other three topics (b-d):
    1. In 1-2 paragraphs, please briefly describe your participation in WCS.
    2. When designing technical solutions, describe the tradeoffs needed to be made between usability, security, and cost.
    3. Describe the key challenges facing the financial industry right now and how technology can help to transform financial institutions to overcome these challenges.
    4. Why is it important to close the gender gap in technology-related fields?  What can be done at both the academic corporate levels to close this gap?
  4. Release Info. Does the department have your permission to release your CV and essay to JP Morgan Chase?
  5. Publicity Info. If you are chosen as a winner, please indicate whether or not the department has permission to publicize it (on our website, alumni newsletter, etc.).
