Welcome to ISE! We are greatly excited to have you. To get you started, check out a few of these resources:

- View the ISE Grad Essentials video below. Here is a copy of the corresponding PowerPoint slides so you can access the links in the video.
Register for courses when you're able to do so.
Fall 2024 Orientation
- International Student Check-In
Friday, August 23 – Mandatory In-Person Orientation for all ISE Graduate Students from 8:30 am - 2 pm. Breakfast & Lunch will be provided.
- Room CIF4029 in the Campus Instructional Facility Building at 1405 Springfield Ave, Urbana, IL 61801.
Fall 2024 Registration
We hope you are ready to begin your studies at UIUC this fall! Registration for the Fall 2024 term has begun! This is also a good time to remind you that you need to make sure your NetID, UIN, and email address are activated! Check out the Graduate College Quick Guide for more information.
You can view a list of courses we're offering in Industrial Engineering (IE) and Systems Engineering and Design (SE) by visiting the Course Schedule.
Here are a few important items (please read through each):
- All graduate students must sign up for Seminar -- IE 590 or SE 590, depending on your major. This is a 0 credit hour course. Section A is for students in residential programs; section ONL is for students in our Online MS in Industrial Engineering. They do meet together, though. Please note that for residential graduate programs, we are unsure of whether the seminar will take place online this fall. More information will be forthcoming.
- You can find curriculum requirements on our internal MS Page and PhD Page. Explore these pages - there are also planning resources!
- Visit the Office of the Registrar's page for instructions on how to register. Please note that we prefer "enhanced" registration over classic registration -- either option will ultimately let you register, though.
