Minutes of the 2010-11 ECE Curriculum Committee (CC)
November 2, 2010
Present: Tangul Basar, Bishop, Cangellaris, Choquette, Hu, Kudeki, Levinson, Makela, Mitra, Leburton, Vaidya
Minutes of the CC meeting on October 19 were approved.
The committee discussed the feedback from ECE faculty regarding the use of computing concepts and tools in ECE courses. The consensus from the discussion is that many 300 and 400 level courses will benefit if the students are taught Matlab in an earlier required course, in particular, ECE 110. The committee will continue discussion of this issue, and determine which topics may be removed from ECE 110 to free up time to include coverage of Matlab.
