ECE Curriculum Committee Meeting Minutes for April 6, 2015

1. The meeting was called to order at 3 pm.
2. The minutes of the Feb 23, 2015 meeting were approved.
3. Sayan Mitra and Vlad Kindratenko presented the survey results from ECE 120 and ECE 220. A number of questions were explored in the survey relating to the experience of the students with the large classroom and discussion sections. The initial conclusions were that the large classroom format appears to be working fine, but we may need to work on making the discussion sections smaller. There was also a discussion about the relationship between ECE 220 and CS 225, given that a number of students appear to be taking CS 225 before taking ECE 220 to improve their prospects of getting a summer internship. In terms of the material being covered in these classes, CS 225 should be taken after ECE 220, but a decision needs to made about whether we should somehow prevent students from taking CS 225 before ECE 220.
