Spot Trading Scholarship (Fall 2014)

Spot Trading is generously funding one $2,500 scholarship for the 2014-2015 academic year. Located in the heart of Chicago’s financial district, Spot Trading is a technology-focused proprietary trading firm. In 2013, the company was named one of Chicago’s Top Workplaces by the Chicago Tribune.
Scholarship Criteria:
a) Open to female CS students.
b) Sophomore or Junior status for Fall 2014.
c) 3.0 GPA or higher.
d) Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident.
e) Must maintain status as an active, full time student during the academic year.
Please ensure that the following materials are submitted by 5pm on 9/15/2014 to Colin Robertson (colinr@illinois.edu, 2233 SC):
1) Current CV, including contact information and graduation date.
2) Unofficial Transcript. Visit UI Integrate Self-Service and view Academic History. Save as PDF, HTML, or Word doc. https://apps.uillinois.edu/selfservice/
3) Please answer the following 3-part essay question, maximum of 1,000 words in total:
a) Please tell us about yourself and why you believe you deserve this scholarship.
b) Please discuss any technological innovations that you have made outside of the classroom.
c) How can you make an impact as a woman in engineering?
4) If you are chosen as a winner, please indicate whether or not the department has permission to publicize it (on our website, alumni newsletter, etc.).
5) Does the department have your permission to release your CV to Spot Trading?
