John Deere & Company Scholarship (Fall 2016)

CS Deadline: 9/19/2016

John Deere is generously funding four John Deere & Company Scholarships for undergraduate WCS and LCSC members, each valued at $2,000 for academic year 2016-2017.

Criteria:
a) Must be a member of WCS or LCSC,
b) Have a 3.0 or greater cumulative GPA,
c) Be a CS major, enrolled for academic year 2016-2017 as an undergraduate,
d) Preference for female or minority students,
e) Be eligible to work in the US on a regular full time basis (without need for sponsorship for full time employment),
f) Must not have previously won a scholarship from John Deere through CS @ ILLINOIS.

Please ensure that the following materials are submitted by 5 pm on 9/19/2016 to Colin Robertson (colinr@illinois.edu, 2252 SC):

1) Current CV.  Please include your right-to-work/citizenship status for (e).
2) Unofficial Transcript.  Visit UI Integrate Self-Service and view Academic History.  Save as PDF, HTML, or Word doc. https://apps.uillinois.edu/selfservice/
3) Essay, no longer than one page, discussing both: 
  a) Your involvement in WCS and/or LCSC, including any leadership positions held. 
  b) Your current CS career goals.
4) Please indicate whether or not the department has permission to release your application materials to John Deere.
5) If you are chosen as a winner, please indicate whether or not the department has permission to publicize it (on our website, alumni newsletter, etc.).

Note: Electronic documents are preferred and should be submitted as PDFs, Word documents, or plain-text files. Students, please include your netid in your file names (e.g. netid_cv.pdf).
