Process Engineer - WIRCO

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Process Engineer is responsible for assisting with foundry design and process evaluation to ensure proper tooling is used create the best results for production of quality castings.
 

WORK LOCATION/HOURS:

This position will be working in an office environment of our foundry offices with the hours of 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Monday Through Friday.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Design changes on current process tooling to improve production.
• Support foundry performance (scrap, downtime, uptime) continuous improvement.
• Participate in quality sampling of new design or redesign
• Support continuous improvement activities
• Recommendation of redesign to improve product production.
• Maintenance of pattern library for new and old design
• Support foundry performance (scrap/downtime/up time) continuous improvement.
• Identify and report foundry process input.
• Identify and report design process.
• And, any additional duties that may be assigned by Management.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Excellent ability communication skills both written and verbal
• Excellent computer skills; and, record keeping skills.
• Ability to maintain and provide current understanding of industry best practices.
• Ability to manage projects and follow through of corrections in the process.
• Ability to pay close attention to details; good analytical problem solving ability.
• Ability to deal comfortably with all levels within the organization.
• Ability to contribute in a cross functional collaborative environment.
• Ability and knowledge of 3D design program process. 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline
• Preferred experience in a Quality or process control
• Proficiency in using Microsoft office products including Outlook, Excel and Power Point
• Preferred some experience in 3D design programs
