(a)-(k) are defined by ABET for all programs it accredits
(l)-(n) are defined by ECE-Illinois for its programs
The Outcomes can be thought of as attributes of an engineer. Any given course is unlikely to emphasize more than a few of the Outcomes; however, the program as a whole should ensure that every student develop the full set.
(a) Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering
(b) Ability to design and conduct experiments as well as to analyze and interpret data
(c) Ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability
(d) Ability to function on multidisciplinary teams
(e) Ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems
(f) Understanding of professional and ethical responsibility
(g) Ability to communicate effectively
(h) Broad education necessary to understand impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context
(i) Recognition of the need for and ability to engage in lifelong learning
(j) Knowledge of contemporary issues
(k) Ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice
(l) Knowledge of probability and statistics, including applications to electrical/computer engineering
(m) Knowledge of mathematics and of basic and engineering sciences necessary to carry out modeling, analysis and design appropriate to electrical/computer engineering
(n) Knowledge of advanced mathematics (EE)/discrete mathematics (CompE)
