IMC Financial Scholarship

IMC Financial is a global, proprietary trading firm and a market maker in securities listed on exchanges around the world, and is generously providing two $7,500 scholarships for 2018-2019 academic year.

One scholarship will be awarded to a student from an underrepresented population and the other scholarship will be open to all Illinois Computer Science students.

Criteria - Applicants should meet all of the following:

  1. 3.5 or higher GPA
  2. Computer Science major
  3. Expected graduation of 2019 or 2020

 Submission Details (by 9/5/2018 by 11:59P)

Required Materials:

  1. CV. Your current CV/resume.
  2. Unofficial Transcript. Visit UI Integrate Self-Service and view Academic History.  Save as PDF, HTML, or Word doc.https://apps.uillinois.edu/selfservice/
  3. Short Answers, up to 500 words for each the following questions:
    1. What appealed to you about studying Computer Science?
    2. If you are awarded the scholarship, how will it have a positive influence on you?
    3. What intrigues you about the cutting edge technology in the FinTech industry?
    4. Tell us about a time when you had to adapt to change. What was the situation and what challenges did you face?
    5. Are you considering or interested in an internship or full time opportunities in the finance/trading industry? Yes/No
  4. Release Info. If you are chosen as a winner, please indicate whether or not the department has permission to publicize it (on our website, alumni newsletter, etc.) and release your CV and essays to the donor.
