Request for materials pertinent to mid-term ABET and external review

- The meeting was called to order at 2:07pm.
- Minutes from November 11, 2015 were approved.
- The committee discussed the specifics of conducting the mid-term ABET self assessment.
- Makela had met with Jamie Hutchinson to discuss how updates to the course goals and instructional outcomes (CGIO) was conducted prior to the last ABET review.
- Makela will work with Hutchinson to send an email out to course directors in mid December to request that they update the CGIOs for their courses before the beginning of the new semester. The updates can be done through the my.ece interface.
- All courses will go through the self-assessment process in 2016. This will include collection of example course materials (homework, exams, etc) as well as a self-assessment survey completed by all instructors.
- An email will go out to the instructors at the beginning of each semester in 2016 explaining the process. A website will be setup to allow them to upload example course materials and to complete the self-assessment survey. This survey will be modeled off the one used in the past.
- Makela had met with Jamie Hutchinson to discuss how updates to the course goals and instructional outcomes (CGIO) was conducted prior to the last ABET review.
- Minin provided an update on the resource questionnaire that his sub-committee has put together. A request to fill out the questionnaire will be sent to the staff of the four introductory core courses.
- Allen brought up a seminar series (First Illinois Learning Sciences and Design initiative Workshop on Learning and Transfer) that had been help in the Beckman.
- The meeting was adjourned at 2:39pm.
