- Begin preparation for 2019 ABET review.
a. Goal: ensure that curriculum and courses are correct and up to date; convert outcome measures from old format to new format, and update as necessary.
b. Method: CC faculty from each area take charge of the courses from that area. Update courses, compute the mapping.c. Deadline: March 2, 2018?Erhan suggested the following method. (1) CC should approve the mapping from old ABET requirements, which are currently listed on the official course description for every course at https://ece.illinois.edu/academics/courses/, to the new ABET requirements. The mapping is straightforward in most cases, but should be approved by faculty. (2) Once we have approved this, then we should contact the course director for each course, give them the proposed mapping, and ask each course director to update the official course description at https://ece.illinois.edu/academics/courses/
c. Status: Due to low attendance, it was proposed and seconded that the CC is not justified in taking any action, even something so trivial as approving the ABET headline mapping. The committee asked the chair to somehow get more people to attend the next meeting. It was proposed that the next meeting should be at noon, not 2pm.
