• Students may not submit applications directly to the Graduate College. All applications must first be submitted to the department.
• Students, nominating officials, and letter writers should each submit their respective materials should be submitted to Samantha Hendon. Electronic documents should be submitted as PDFs. Students, please include your netid in your file names (e.g. netid_cv.pdf).PDF with the name "19-20. MS Travel Grant - Last Name, First Name."
• Note that there are formatting guidelines for each of the required items indicated below.  Nomination packages containing items that do not follow the formatting guidelines will be disqualified without review.

Checklist of Required Materials for CS Department Review. Incomplete application packets will NOT be considered.

Required Materials:

The nomination package should contain the following documents, arranged in the following order following the naming structure listed above:

1. CV. CV (three-page limit, with one-inch margins and at least 11-point font throughout).
2. Project summary (two-page limit, double-spaced, 12-point font, one-inch margins, Times New Roman). The summary should detail the nature of the project (e.g. thesis research, required final project, exhibition, performance) including its significance, specific activities, location, dates, and intended results. Any citations must be included in the two-page limit.
3. Budget (one-page limit). The budget page should include all items requested, complete with budget notes explaining each item. Also indicate sources of the budget estimates.
4. Letter of support (two page limit) from nominee’s advisor that describes the project’s role in the degree completion process and discusses the significance of the proposed project along with the student’s academic record and accomplishments.
5. Current University of Illinois transcript (unofficial will suffice).
