Internships are open to all University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign undergraduate students enrolled for the 2014-2015 academic year in good academic standing. Internships last the full academic year, starting in the fall semester and continuing into the spring semester.  All interns are paid $12.50/hour.

Rhodes Scholarship

Seniors, graduate students, and graduates are eligible to apply. Must be under the age of 24 and a U.S. citizen or citizen of Bermuda, Canada, Commonwealth Caribbean, Jamaica, Kenya, Singapore, Zambia, or Zimbabwe. Non-U.S. citizens are eligible to apply from their home country on the basis of degrees from U.S. universities and have earlier deadlines.

1-3 years of study at Oxford. 

Fulbright Grant

Seniors, graduate students, and graduates are eligible to apply. Must be a U.S. citizen.

One year of study or research in any country where there is a Fulbright Commission.

Tapia 2015 ScholarshipsACM Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing9/15/2014The Tapia Conference provides scholarships for students (undergraduate/graduate), post-docs and a limited number for faculty.  There are 3 main criteria:
  • whether the applicant is a member of an underrepresented group,
  • overall strength of the application and written essay,
  • applicants level of accomplishment in computer science.

Scholarships include conference registration, meals during the conference, hotel accommodations, and a reimbursable travel stipend.

Graduate students currently pursuing Ph.D. degrees in areas of physics, chemistry, material sciences, biology (non-medical), mathematics, engineering, computer or computational sciences, or specific areas of environmental sciences that are aligned with the mission of the Office of Science.  Must have passed qualifying exams.

The SCGSR program provides supplemental funds for graduate awardees to conduct part of their thesis research at a host DOE laboratory in collaboration with a DOE laboratory scientist within a defined award period.
