Cisco Women's Scholarship Fall 2013

Deadline: 11/15/2014

Cisco is funding one $2,500 scholarship for Spring 2014.

Criteria:
a) Member of Women in Computer Science.
b) Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related majors such as Math, Physics
c) 3.0 GPA or higher

Please ensure that the following materials are submitted by 5pm on 11/15/2013 to Colin Robertson (colinr@illinois.edu, 2233 SC):
1) Current CV
2) Unofficial Transcript.  Visit UI Integrate Self-Service and view Academic History.  Save as PDF, HTML, or Word doc. https://apps.uillinois.edu/selfservice/ 
3) Please answer the following questions, spend no more than half of a page per response:
   a) How have you been involved in WCS?
   b) What are your career goals?
   c) Give an example of difficult problem that you solved.  How did you solve it?   
5) If you are chosen as a winner, please indicate whether or not the department has permission to publicize it (on our website, alumni newsletter, etc.).
6) Does the department have your permission to release your application materials to Cisco?  Would you be willing to interview with Cisco for an Engineering position, either Full Time or as an Intern?

Note: Electronic documents are preferred and should be submitted as PDFs, Word documents, or plain-text files. Letters of recommendation should be sent from the letter writer directly to colinr@illinois.edu.  Students, please include your netid in your file names. I recommend that students submit their CVs and statement(s) to their letter writers at least a week prior to the deadline.

  a) Your involvement in community service or extra-curricular activities, including any leadership positions held.

  b) Why you are interested in CS and/or your career goals.

4) If you are chosen as a winner, please indicate whether or not the department has permission to publicize it (on our website, alumni newsletter, etc.).
