This year's Grace Hopper Celebration, is from October 14-16 in Houston, Texas.
Department Scholarships ($1000/each Grants:
- We are awarding three $1000 travel grants to cover hotel, registration, food, and/or transportation costs
- 3 scholarships split between .
- Recipients must be female CS students who will be juniors, seniors, MS, or PhD students in Fall 2015.
- Recipients are expected to help represent and promote CS @ ILLINOIS at the conference, spending at least an hour per day at the department's booth.
Yahoo! Scholarships:
- Two $1000 scholarships to cover hotel, registration, food, and/or transportation costs.
- Recipients must be female CS students who will be juniors, seniors, MS, or PhD students in Fall 2015.
Cisco Scholarship:
- One $1000 scholarship to cover hotel, registration, food, and/or transportation costs.
- The recipient must be a female CS student who is a WCS member, and who will be a junior or senior in Fall 2015.
About the Conference:
Co-founded by Dr. Anita Borg and Dr. Telle Whitney in 1994 and inspired by the legacy of Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, the Institute's Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference is designed to bring the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront. It is the largest technical conference for women in computing and results in collaborative proposals, networking and mentoring for junior women and increased visibility for the contributions of women in computing. Conference presenters are leaders in their respective fields, representing industry, academia and government. Top researchers present their work while special sessions focus on the role of women in today's technology fields.

June 2 - Conference registration opens.
June 22 - Early Super early bird registration rates end.
July 31 - Regular Early bird registration rates end.
Sept 25 - Registration closes.
Notes:
1) Students are responsible for their own hotel accommodations.
2) Scholarships Funding will be disbursed in the form of a reimbursement after the conference. Recipients will need to make many purchases before the conference, save receipts, and complete reimbursement paperwork after the conference, in order to be covered by the scholarship and receive the scholarship funding after the conference.
If interested, please ensure that the following materials are submitted by 5 pm on June 5 10 to Colin Robertson (colinr@illinois.edu, 2233 SC):
1) Your up-to-date CV/resume.
2) A one page statement discussing why you want to attend the conference, and how attending will benefit your education, research, and/or career.
3) If you are presenting at or assisting with the conference, please provide a half page to one page statement summarizing your participation.
4) A short statement indicating whether or not you would be willing to assist in promoting CS @ Illinois for at least an hour each day while at the conference. This would include assisting department staff at the department's exhibit career fair table for periods of time.
5) For Cisco only: in 1-2 paragraphs, please briefly describe your participation in WCS.
