Eligibility:
Applicants should meet all of the following criteria:
1) Female Computer Science majors;
2) WCS members;
3) Sophomores or juniors in Fall 2016;
4) 3.0+ GPA.By 5pm

 

Please ensure that the following materials are submitted by 5 pm on 9/19/2016 , the following materials should be submitted to Colin Robertson (colinr@illinois.edu, 2252 SC):

1) Your current CV/resume.
2) Essay, 1 to 1.5 single-spaced pages, responding to one of the following three topics:
  a) When designing technical solutions, describe the tradeoffs needed to be made between usability, security, and cost.
  b) Describe the key challenges facing the financial industry right now and how technology can help to transform financial institutions to overcome these challenges.
  c) Why is it important to close the gender gap in technology-related fields?  What can be done at both the academic corporate levels to close this gap?
3) In 1-2 paragraphs, please briefly describe your participation in WCS.
